It’s so easy to just keep going along the same path, isn’t it?
You’ve spent years building your career – putting up with the stress, the long hours, and the office politics so long that you almost don’t notice them anymore.
And you’re a success – you’ve got the title, reached the goal, and proved you can do it. You’ve worked your way up, paid your dues and should be reaping the rewards.
Yet as mid-life approaches, I’m seeing more and more people who just feel flat.
Their life isn’t terrible but it isn’t wowing them either. They’re consumed by the daily drudge, exhausted in their free time, and beginning to realise the corporate dream isn’t all it was sold to be.
They’re struggling to balance the needs of their kids, parents, and squeeze in a bit of down time somewhere along the line too.
They’re looking for more meaning, a purpose, and a chance to make a mark on the world before it’s too late.
And I’m a great believer that it’s never too late.
So many people tend to write themselves off as they approach middle age, yet it’s a great time to take stock and see what’s really important in your life.
Whether that’s spending more time with the people you love, giving something back to society, discovering new interests or finding a renewed sense of purpose.
I’ve met a lot of people wrestling with these issues but then seen many sadly return to the well worn groove they’ve made for themselves.
Maybe it’s a sense of comfort in the ordinary or a fear of failure but it just seems a real shame that they didn’t give themselves another chance to shine.
I do appreciate it can seem daunting to step out of the day to day and really shake things up. Yet it really is possible if you get the right guide or a roadmap to show you how to make things happen.
I’m all about empowering career changers who want more out of life but want that added security of expert guidance to make sure they really do succeed.
With our programmes, we guide you through all the requirements of setting up a business so there aren’t any of those nagging doubts that you’ve missed something important or costly.
And we teach you what works and what doesn’t. I’ve run my businesses since 2005 and I made plenty of mistakes in the early days that you can easily avoid!
Finally, we show you how to really start living a satisfying life again with a fully flexible and rewarding lifestyle – and it’s not one that’s unachievable, as I’m living it myself.
I just can’t imagine how I’d feel now if I was still stuck in my old corporate banking role. I’m so thankful that I was able to step out of it to set up my own businesses, which give me the flexibility to focus on everything that’s important in my life.
And the older I get, the more I see the importance of doing something I love – nothing compares to the feeling of jumping out of bed, excited to start each day.
So, I really can’t stress the importance of listening to your gut feeling and investigating other ways forward at this age – you’ve got a lot more living to do yet, so make sure it counts!
