Has the pandemic left you wondering what’s next?
If you’re looking to bring more meaning to your life or find your purpose, you’re certainly not alone.
An Aviva survey found that 60% of people are considering changing career in light of Covid and it’s not hard to see why.
If you’ve been burning the candle at both ends for years and missing precious family time, there’s nothing like a pandemic for focussing your attention on what’s really important!
What’s changed?
The pandemic gave people the chance to press the pause button for the first time in years and reassess what really matters to them.
In the last couple of years, I’ve spoken to so many people who are fed up with work politics, the game playing and the competitive jostling – they’re now questioning why they’ve put up with it for so long.
And sadly, after the pandemic, many know someone who’s lost a loved one or suffered long term health issues. It really does bring home the fact that we need to make today count as we never know what the future holds.
A change for the better
For me, it wasn’t a pandemic but maternity leave back in 2004 that gave me the space and time to realise that life really shouldn’t revolve around work.
I know first-hand just how life changing that realisation can be, especially after years stuck on a corporate treadmill.
And I’ve never looked back.
But I understand that change can be hard and that’s why I’m passionate about helping others navigate their way to a brighter future.
A bumpy road
When I started my first business, I knew I wanted a better work life balance but I set off on my journey without a roadmap and boy did it show!
I made every expensive mistake possible, faced criticism from my nearest and dearest and at times, wondered what I’d done.
But if there’s one thing I am, it’s determined. I persevered, creating several successful businesses and the life I’d dreamed of. I managed to let go of my fear and it really did pay off.
The lessons I learnt along the way were invaluable – there can’t be many mistakes I didn’t make but it taught me what works and how to create a truly flexible lifestyle that I love.
Making a difference
So, if you’re determined to bring more meaning to your life, what’s next for you?
The overriding thing that I hear when I speak to my members is that they really want to make a difference. Yes, it’s nice to earn a good living too but the key thing they want is fulfilment – to do a good day’s work and love what they do.
They’re passionate about leaving their own mark on the world, creating a legacy that matters and knowing that they’ve had a real impact on the lives and businesses of the people they work with.
Something just for you
If you’ve been thinking about a change in direction, a good place to start is to think about what’s stopping you.
If you’ve reached mid-life, there’s never going to be a better time to shake things up – after all, if not now, when?
Like most of our generation, you’ve probably become an expert at putting other’s wishes first – from meeting our parents’ expectations while growing up to sacrificing everything for a boss who’s never happy. Throw kids, partners and societal expectations into the mix and it’s easy to see why your real passions may have been suppressed.
But the good news is, it’s genuinely never too late to change direction.
Taking control
If you’re looking for more meaning or to help others, one of my programmes might be just the support you need to take back control and create the future you want.
What I love most about my work is seeing the difference that a little expert support can make when it comes to establishing the life someone’s always wanted.
It’s that guiding hand that helps you avoid the costly mistakes, it’s your cheerleader in the tough times and often it’s simply the difference between getting it right and missing the mark.
The last couple of years have been hard for us all but I know it’s woken something in many people that they just can’t ignore any longer.
If you’re one of them and ready to make a change, I’m here, in your corner, cheering you on!
If you’re ready to grab the life you’ve always wanted with both hands, start by taking a look at my webinar. It explains a bit more about what your life could look like as the owner of a companionship business, as well as giving you a few tips.
